Phonathon Calling

Phonathon

What is Phonathon?

Our Phonathon program comprises a group of dedicated, enthusiastic students who make thousands of calls each year to Moravian alumni, families, and friends. Our student callers educate and engage members of our community on our common goal—to support and empower our students toward success!

When you answer a call from our Phonathon students, you are connecting with current students who are benefitting from your generous support and experiencing the amazing opportunities made possible by our supporter community! Our callers provide updates on new initiatives, ask for advice, and share ways you can stay connected with the Moravian community.

Our Phonathon program provides our students with professional experience that strengthens their communication and networking skills and introduces them to philanthropy and the incredible impact our supporters have on every student and across campus!

Did you get a call from our Phonathon students?

Our Phonathon students will be calling from 610-861-1610. If you see this number calling, please pick up! Our students would love to speak with you.

Ways to Support Our Students

Leave a Message

Missed our call but still want to speak with our students? Leave a message for your caller and we'll make sure they hear from you!

Update your Information

Update Your Information

Stay connected with Moravian by ensuring your information we have on record is up to date.

Double your Donation

Double Your Donation

Check to see if your employer offers gift-matching opportunities. Matching gifts are an easy way to double—or even triple—your impact at no additional expense to you!

Pay your Pledge

Have you already pledged your support for Moravian but have an outstanding balance? Pay your pledge to support our students one gift at a time!

What is the Senior Class Gift Campaign?

We’ve all benefited from the generous contributions of the Hounds who came before us, and now it’s our turn to support the Hounds who will follow. Tuition and fees cover only about two-thirds of a Moravian education, with the rest funded by the commitment of dedicated donors. The Senior Class Gift Campaign helps close this gap, strengthening Moravian as an institution. This year, the Senior Class Gift Campaign will directly support both current and future Hounds, ensuring that Moravian continues to thrive.

Do I have to support the Moravian Scholarship Fund?

While the Moravian Scholarship Fund is the area of greatest need for the university, we recognize that giving is very personal in nature and you may want to support a different area of Morvaian that better resonates with you. We encourage our supporters to give to whichever area of Moravian is a priority for them!

Where does my money go?

Your money will go directly toward the area of the university you choose to support! You can give to student scholarships, support an academic department, sponsor internship stipends, and much more.

Why do you ask for credit card gifts over the phone?

We understand that giving credit card information over the phone is not for everyone. We have other methods of giving if this makes you uncomfortable, but we ask for credit card gifts for a few reasons. First, the university will benefit from your gift immediately. Credit card gifts are processed the next day, so your gift has an immediate impact. Additionally, credit card gifts act as additional gifts to the university because they save paper and postage costs. Lastly, credit card gifts are better for the environment by cutting down paper usage.

How is my credit card information handled?

When you provide your credit card information over the phone, our student caller will record it and verify the information with you. The next day, this information is passed on to our Development team, who processes all gifts given to the university. Your credit card information is not stored or saved and is only processed by a full-time staff member.

Do I have to give my gift all at once, or can I spread it out across the year?

You can do either! If you would like to give a one-time gift via credit card or by sending a check in the mail, we will happily accept! You can also opt into our monthly giving program—this is a group of loyal supporters dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our students on a monthly or recurring basis. By giving a monthly gift, these supporters have an immediate and consistent impact at Moravian! When you enroll in monthly giving, you choose a gift amount that works best for your budget. Our Phonathon callers can enroll you, and you can manage your monthly or recurring gifts at any time—set up direct withdrawals based on the frequency and date you wish, increase or decrease your recurring gift, or opt out of the program.
